It shapes the shoes you can wear, the days out you say yes to, and how you feel about your own body, and that deserves a real answer.

The why behind StepEase is the woman who keeps telling herself it is not that bad while quietly knowing it is getting worse. She hides her feet when company is around. She catches herself wincing and hopes nobody noticed. She should have dealt with it years ago, but life was busy and there was always something more important. We built this for her, so that taking care of herself finally feels doable rather than like one more thing she cannot justify.

The standard we hold ourselves to is where most of this category falls down. Splints are bulky and obvious, so they end up in a drawer. Surgery is drastic, expensive, and means weeks off your feet at exactly the wrong moment. Wider shoes only hide the problem. We refuse to add another gadget to that pile. Every product has to be gentle enough for daily use, discreet enough that nobody sees it, and effective enough to genuinely earn its few minutes of your evening.
